Mata Chica

Mata Chica is a secluded beach resort located about 5 miles from San Pedro. The resort features fourteen private, air-conditioned villas, including 2 luxury Caribbean Villas and an incredible Beach Mansion, each with its own unique tropical flair.

Start your day with delicious freshly squeezed tropical juice and Belizean coffee, and then relax in a chair by the pool or in a hammock. Spend the afternoon on the Caribbean fishing or snorkeling, then spend the evening in the giant outdoor hot tub gazing at the stars.

The beautiful villas of Mata Chica feature hand painted murals by internationally renowned artist Lionel Dumas. The Seabreeze Bungalows, Beachfront Casitas, and SeaView Suites all feature beautiful furnishing and authentic thatched roofs.

The Caribbean Villas are located at the highest point of the resort offering spectacular Caribbean views, as well as two bedrooms, two full baths, and a kitchenette. The Beach Mansion offers 5000 square feet of luxury with three bedrooms and baths and plenty of room for large groups.

In addition to spending your time relaxing on the beach or by the pool, spend some time at the Jade Spa while being pampered with a facial or full-body massage. Then enjoy dinner at the Mambo Restaurant and feast on fine Italian cuisine with a Caribbean flair.

If something more adventurous beckons, try a day trip to some of Belize's amazing Mayan ruins, or take a boat trip through the Northern River and spot orchids, native birds and other unique wildlife. Or get underwater and sorkel or dive some of the world's best locations.
