Day 1 - Cayo District (Meals: D)

Blancaneaux Lodge
Arrive at Belize City's Goldson International Airport, where you will be met by a hotel representative after clearing customs, then transferred to your hotel in the Cayo District.

The beautiful Cayo District is situated on the western side of Belize and features lush jungles, exotic wildlife, and fantastic river, Mayan, and caving adventures.

Day 2 - Caracol Mayan Ruins (Meals: B,L,D)

Caracol Ruins in Belize
Situated in the Chiquibul Forest, Caracol is the most extensive Mayan ruins in Belize. The site and surrounding area are rich in tropical flora and fauna. Sightings of exotic birds, howler monkeys, and other wildlife are common. This Classic-period site is noted for the rare use of giant date glyphs on circular stone altars.

After a picnic lunch, head back toward the lodge, stopping at the Rio Frio cave, then taking a dip in the cooling waters of the Rio On pools. Overnight at Cayo District hotel.

Day 3 - Barton Creek Cave (Meals: B,L,D)

Canoeing in Barton Creek
On the way to the cave, you will drive through the traditional Mennonite village of Upper Barton Creek. Upon arrival you will board a canoe and head almost two miles into this remote cave, once used by the ancient Mayans as a burial site and for ceremonial purposes. The cave is adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. You will observe pottery shards and bones with the help of your guide's spotlight.

Return to the lodge in time to enjoy lunch and a free afternoon exploring trails on the property. Overnight at Cayo District hotel.

Day 4 - Cayo District/Ambergris Caye or Placencia (Meals: B)

Orchid Falls
After a leisurely morning, travel by land to Belize City, and then take a short flight to either Ambergris Caye or Placencia.

Ambergris Caye is a small island at the end of the Yucatan Peninsula and offers great shops, dining, and nightlife, as well as world-class diving and snorkeling opportunities.

Placencia, on the south-central coast of Belize, is a beautiful coastal destination featuring water sports and pristine beaches.
